Deerfield Farmhouse began in 1987 when Christine first came to Deerfield Farm as a new bride. She was born a hop, skip & a jump from her Great Grandfather's homestead.
Today she lives with her husband not more than three miles from where she grew up on her father's farm. Christine & her husband both come from generations of farmers, teachers, ministers & seamstresses dating back to the early 1700's at Plymouth.
Christine has always loved learning about the day to day lives of our ancestors from the 18th & 19th centuries - old houses, early dolls, & antique textiles - so she endeavors to recreate the feel of the old & love-worn dolls & keepsakes.
Each Doll is created by handsculpting their heads from papier-mache. Their bodies are  made from old cloth, then dressed in antique linens & humble cottons. Each one a wonderful  & unique doll that is reminiscent of an earlier, simpler time.
